Keith Evans
- 1988 Sportsperson of the Year
Keith Evans, perhaps better known as Mr. Junior Football in Calgary, has been deeply involved with the Calgary Colts organization as General Manager since 1969. During the past 19 years, Keith has been the glue that has kept junior football together in this city.
As the Colt’s volunteer General Manager. Keith has made impressive commitments of both time and finances. He has virtually built and/or renovated both of the team’s clubhouses, purchasing much of the material and providing a lion’s share of the labour. He has been instrumental throughout the years spearheading numerous fund-raising schemes to keep the organization operational. In addition, Keith has maintained a strong relationship between the Prairie Junior Football Conference Colts and the Canadian Football League Calgary Stampeders.
Keith has been recognized previously by the Calgary Booster Club as an Honoured Athletic Leader in 1982. He has served in various positions with the Prairie Junior Football Conference and the Alberta Amateur Football Association. At the 1987 Canadian Junior Championships in Regina. he was honoured as the Executive of the Year in the Canadian Junior Football League.
Congratulations to Keith Evans, the Calgary Booster Club 1988 Sportsperson of the year. He’s a gentleman who certainly fulfills the mandate of development and encouragement of athletic endeavour.
