Eligibility

In order to be considered for Sportsperson of the Year, one must submit three letters of reference to support your nomination. The following criteria will be analyzed and evaluated in the selection process:

• Nomination must have received an Honoured Athletic Leader Award in the past
• Length of service as a coach, official, volunteer, and/or administrator
• Active promotion of sport
• Degree of involvement, i.e. variety of positions within a sport, different sports
• Volunteer time, paid time
• Impact on sport(s), i.e. growth, profile, participation levels
• Number of people impacted
• Sport-related accomplishments – community, media, awards, peer recognition
• Calgary, Provincial, National and/or International influence
