About Erv
Erv retired from education after having spent 25 years in schools as a physical education teacher, coach and administrator. He was a Principal for 20 years with his last school being Father Lacombe, where his support and encouragement helped develop many fine athletes and teams. In his illustrious career he coached volleyball, basketball, cross country and track & field. Erv is past Chairman of the CSHSAA and served on the CSHSAA Executive for 4 years. As a father, he and his lovely wife Joan raised 3 daughters who also showed their love of sports thanks to his positive influence. One daughter was a member of Canada’s National Rugby Team and played in the World Cup in Holland. Erv continues to participate in athletics and competed in the World Masters Games in Edmonton in the 100, 200, Long Jump and Pole Vault.

Starting in the 2016/17 school year, the scholarship awards program was revised, and each award was assigned to a specific school; to be awarded at the school, based on criteria set by the school. Additional scholarship awards were created at this time, so that all CSHSAA member schools had an award assigned to them to award to their students.
