About Don

As an educator for nearly 40 years with the Calgary Board of Education, Don held a variety of administrative positions — including Athletic Director at Henry Wise Wood, Queen Elizabeth, Ernest Manning — while coaching football, basketball, and volleyball.

Don also devoted time to the Calgary Senior High Schools Athletic Association, serving as Secretary-Treasurer and Executive Director. He’s also pitched in at Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association events. He’s been referred to as an “ASAA athletic giant.”

The Calgary Booster Club recognized Don as an Honoured Athletic Leader in 2002.
