About Bert

After starting his teaching career in Sangudo, Alberta in 1977, Bert relocated to Calgary where he began at work at St. Augustine Junior High.

Eventually, he moved to St. Francis High School, then, after nine years there, shifted to Bishop Grandin High School. All along, Bert coached, taking on football and wrestling. But his real passion was soccer, leading St. Francis and Bishop Grandin to city championships. He also won titles, including a provincial one, in wrestling.

Bert, who was the chairperson of high school soccer for a decade, runs the Kick Off Tournament each year for the CSHSAA.
