Queen Elizabeth

- Henry Philip Taylor Award -

About Henry

Henry was a student at Queen Elizabeth High School in 1974 and a member of the junior boys football team. After a practice one night he complained of a headache in the locker room and collapsed. Unfortunately, he never regained consciousness and it was believed he died from a concussion. Henry was an outstanding young man who led quietly by his actions on and off the field. He was an inspiration to his teammates, his school and his community. This award has been named in honour of this unique individual and will carry his memory on into the future in appreciation by his teammates, coaches and school officials. The Henry Philip Taylor Award was initiated in 1975 and is presented annually to the top Division II or Division III student athlete in football.

Honoured Recipients

Starting in the 2016/17 school year, the scholarship awards program was revised, and each award was assigned to a specific school; to be awarded at the school, based on criteria set by the school. Additional scholarship awards were created at this time, so that all CSHSAA member schools had an award assigned to them to award to their students.
