About the Fund

The Art Smith Amateur Sport Legacy Fund is a partnership between the Calgary Booster Club and the Parks Foundation Calgary. Together these two groups have created and will continue to build an endowment fund to provide much needed assistance for amateur athletes. Because The Art Smith Amateur Sport Legacy is an endowment fund, your gift can be used now and will still be at work for many years to come. This fund is named in honour of Art Smith, a founding member of the Calgary Booster Club, who was universally recognized as a great Canadian and popularly known as Mr. Calgary.

Requirements

Grants are based on level of performance and financial need. Applicants should be:

  • Calgary resident, or training within the City of Calgary municipal limits
  • Successfully competing at a provincial or national level of competition on the verge of moving up to the next level
  • Competing at high performance national/international competitions
  • 17 years old or older as of Wed, Mar 6, 2024
  • The Art Smith Amateur Sports Legacy Grants will be announced and awarded at the Calgary Booster Club’s annual gala dinner event in April.
  • All sections of the application package must be complete and submitted by Wed, Mar 6, 2024.
