The Calgary Wranglers are officially set to face the Abbotsford Canucks in the second round of the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs.

The city’s Honoured Athletic Leaders have been announced by the Calgary Booster Club.

The Calgary Booster Club today unveiled its Athletes of the Year, based on performance during the 2022 calendar year, and the winner of its most prestigious award, Sportsperson of the Year.

Riding the wave of the home crowd in Calgary, the SAIT Trojans, making their sixth consecutive appearance on the national stage, finally got the job done as they defeated the Dawson Blues 96-81 to claim the gold medal on Sunday.

Emma Bergesen scored the golden goal for Mount Royal as the No. 8-seeded Cougars defeated the No. 3 Concordia Stingers 4-3 in overtime in the gold medal game of the 2023 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship at CEPSUM in Montréal on Sunday night.

The University of Calgary Dinos, who won their first Canada West championship since 1996 last week, are the top seed going into this week’s Cavendish Farms University Cup.

Mitchell’s memorial service is set for Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Jack Singer Concert Hall (225 8th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). The tribute begins at 2 p.m.

Not only did Riley Fleming get married in 2021, he enjoyed a splendid stretch on the golf course, winning several events, including the PGA Championship of Canada. “I’ve never been more proud.” The Airdrie native, as the Calgary Booster Club’s male athlete of the year, lays claim to the Scott-Mamini Memorial Award.
